Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Defeats Gannon, 3-2

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team defeated the Gannon Golden Knights, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights began scoring eight minutes into the game with a goal by Amanda Sharbaugh (Sarver/Knoch). Kristine Preski (Pottstown/Owen J. Roberts) answered back with a long goal from the midfield. Suzie Wade (Watsontown/Warrior Run) scored a second goal in the half to end the period with a 2-1 score.

The Golden Knights tied the game in the second half with a goal by Sharbaugh. Ashley Brucker (Blairstown, NJ) answered back and sealed the win with a goal in the 83rd minute of play.

Goalkeeper Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) had six saves for Bloomsburg.

The Huskies move to 8-3 on the season and will host Mansfield on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
